وصف الكتاب | This research was aimed to fill the gap in research knowledge of factors that affect and influence perceived wellness and positive self concept among adults in rural population of sub- Sahara African towns. There is little research on issues that influence perceived wellness and other factors that affect mental health in the lives of adults as they go through life changing endeavors like enrollment or graduation from literacy program. On the other hand, studies have shown that illiterate adults are more likely to suffer mental health problems compared to literate adults with knowledge of resources about mental health services and conditions as well as symptoms associated with mental health problems (Vogel, Wade & Hackler, 2007; Bennett, Culhane, McCollum, Elo & Mathew 2007). This research helped develop a baseline of perceived sense of wellness and positive self-concept between illiterate adults and adults currently enrolled in literacy program. |
