| In 1761 Kaspar Faber started producing pencils in Stein near Nuremberg. When the 4th generation Baron Lothar Faber took over the company in 1839, he turned the pencil into a quality product and the world's first branded writing instrument. Rediscovering the past and carrying it to the future with perfect design and new technology meant a personal challenge for them.
