وصف الكتاب | "The Book of the Preachers of Kings" is the title of a book by the Iraqi social researcher Dr. Ali al-Wardi. It was published in 1954 during the royal era in Iraq, and it caused a significant uproar at the time, leading to numerous responses in various forms. More than five books were published, along with dozens of articles and publications in newspapers and magazines. Even now, al-Wardi continues to provoke debate, even in his grave. He wrote "The Book of the Preachers of Kings" half a century ago, but it speaks to our reality. The book addresses events in Islamic history through the lens of modern social logic, discussing the position of the Quraysh towards the new religion, the developments of social concepts after the emergence of the faith, and its impact on Quraysh. It also covers the subsequent struggles for the Islamic caliphate after the death of Muhammad ibn Abdullah, including the assassination of Uthman ibn Affan and the conflicts that arose between Ali ibn Abi Talib and Muawiya ibn Abi Sufyan, leading to an ongoing dispute between Sunnis and Shiites to this day. Al-Wardi raised several points, including that the logic of the Platonic preachers is the logic of the privileged and tyrants. He asserted that history does not move based on logical reasoning; rather, it moves according to the inherent tendencies of human nature that are immutable, and that morality is merely a consequence of circumstances. |
