The cowpea is a Non-GMO heirloom variety of cowpea,they grow just fine in temperate climates as well. They cannot withstand a frost however will grow in low-nutrient soil. Sow the seeds 1/2 an inch deep into the soil. Keep the seeds and the soil moist and the beans will germinate quickly.
