| Book Description | The Arabic dictionary of upholstery in the language, the first edition of which was published in the year 1908, is so famous that it needs to be defined today. As soon as it was prepared by Father Louis Maalouf, the Jesuit in Beirut, and published by the Catholic Press, writers and scholars rushed to praise it in newspapers and magazines because it came to meet the needs of students of the Arabic language. In its ancient and modern times, as it was at that time, this is what encouraged his author and those who succeeded him to improve its editions and to enrich it year after year A year with vocabulary and drawings but the openness of the Arab world to Western civilizations and the wonderful development that modern Arabic literature witnessed in the twentieth century prompted writers and scholars in the Arab countries to invent a lot of new vocabulary and they were too important for us today to be content with improving and adding them so it was necessary to put them next to the upholstery In the language which remains at the service of those who are interested in ancient literature and language, we have created a modern upholstery that we called Al-Munjid in the contemporary Arabic language which includes all the vocabulary and phrases that the intellectual of the twenty-first century needs even those taken from non-Arab origins |
