About the Author | Patricia O'Brien-Giglia, CMT, began her career in the healthcare field after having graduated from The Broward County Practical Nursing Program in 1980 to achieve her LPN license. She continued her education by graduating with her Associate in Arts degree from Seminole Community College in 1993. Having served on the Editorial Advisory Board as an editorial consultant for Stedman's (Lippincott Williams & Wilkins), she has participated in the completion of Radiology Words, Fourth & Fifth Editions, as well as having developed crossword puzzles accompanying CD for Lippincott Williams & Wilkins' Medical Terminology Quick & Concise, A Programmed Leaning Approach. Patricia has contributed to and has been acknowledged for her contributions toward The Medical Transcriptionist's Guide to Microsoft Word, Third Edition, Make It Your Own. Patricia currently resides in Tampa, Florida employed as a Medical Transcription Supervisor for a major cancer center where she developed their Medical Transcription Department Quality Assurance Program. Currently enrolled in The University of South Florida, she is working on her BSAS in Public Health. She is a member of the Audubon Society, enjoys photography and gardening.
