It introduces twenty-four original essays by an international group of scholars divided among three main sections: "Genres", "Authors and Texts" and "Topics". Issues discussed include genre syncretism, intertextuality, sexuality and gender, nationhood and globalization, postcolonial literature and ethical aspects of crime fiction.
