Like other microcontrollers and microprocessors, ESP32 has built in power regulation circuits, onboard antennas, noise filters, and fits conveniently on any breadboard for quick prototyping.
ESP32 can interface with other MCUs as a master or slave, or operate completely autonomously via SPI/SDIO, I2C, and UART. The microcontroller can also support multiple sensors via an SD card and 32 GPIO pins (all of which can be used for PWM).
Only the antenna types are different between the ESP32 WROOM-32U Wifi Bluetooth Development Module and ESP32-WROOM-32D Wifi Bluetooth Development Module. Other than that, all the features are exactly the same.
