Book Description"After adding the literary legacy of the most popular poet in the Arab world, Nizar Qabbani, to its list of publications, which includes poetry covering various fields such as politics, nationalism, and especially love and women, Nofal is releasing his individual collections in a new modern format, as a salute and appreciation to the poet of love and women, the poet of Beirut and Damascus, the poet of dreams and revolution. Nizar Qabbaniborn the 'poet of love and women' in 1923 to a prominent Damascene familystudied law at the Syrian University. Immediately after graduating in 1945, he joined the diplomatic corps and spent nearly two decades moving from one capital to another, embracing different cultures. After publishing his first collection, 'The Dark-Skinned Woman,' in 1944, his works ranged between poetry, prose, and politics. The release of each was akin to a storm sweeping through the Arab world. Many of his poems were brought to life by renowned singers, from Umm Kulthum to Fairuz, Majida El Roumi, and Kazem El Saher. Nizar Qabbani marked a distinctive signature in all his compositions, and despite the personal tragedies that befell him, he continued to dream, love, rebel, and write until his last breath. He passed away in London in 1998 and was buried in his birthplace, Damascus."
