This Hojicha (roasted green tea) from Uji, Kyoto Prefecture, Japan is a Kukicha (stem tea) of the Karigane (Wild Goose) grade, made from leaf stems of the Gyokuro (Jade Dew) Sencha harvest, which is shaded for 20 days prior to harvest and is considered to be of the highest quality. Kukicha teas are famously used by practitioners of the macrobiotic diet.
