Zad Al-Ma'ad fi Guidance of the Best of Servants is a book written by Ibn Qayyim Al-Jawziyyah in three volumes. It deals with jurisprudence and its principles, biography and history, in which he mentioned the biography of the Messenger, peace and blessings of God be upon him, in his conquests and life, and explained his guidance in his livelihood, worship, and treatment of his companions and enemies. These books were written during Traveling, he did not have any sources from which to transmit what he needed of hadiths, sayings, and opinions related to the topics of the book. However, his book contained prophetic hadiths from the Sahihs, Sunans, dictionaries, and biographies, and he confirmed every hadith on the topic that concerned it. Knowing that Ibn al-Qayyim He memorized the Musnad of Imam Ahmad ibn Hanbal, which includes more than thirty thousand hadiths.
There are many editions of this book, some of which were authenticated and its hadiths published and commented on by Shuaib Al-Arnaout and Abdul Qadir Al-Arnaout. One of the most recent editions of the book is the Dar Alam Al-Fawaid edition, and this edition corrected some typographical errors that occurred in other editions.
One of the manuscripts approved for the edition of Dar Alam Al-Fawa'id in Mecca is a manuscript written in the year 754 AH in the handwriting of Al-Khalil bin Ahmed Al-Kutbi and it is preserved in the National Library and Archives in Cairo.
