Editorial Review | Of course, I like this book! I always like Houdret's work. Plus, the book's content parallels my herbal and healing body systems classes. The text is illustrated in a beautiful presentation that displays gorgeous photography. Illustrations show how to make all sorts of herbal products and even create and use your own flower essences. There are suggestions of which products are best to use for each of the many specific health concerns. A helpful chart in the aromatherapy chapter gives an assortment of health conditions that are treated by essential oils. One chapter nicely explains Ayurvedic medicine principles and another describes foods that have healing properties. Incorporating a true holistic health approach, there are also healing touch techniques that include reiki and shiatsu. The meditation exercises that use positive affirmations, yoga, homeopathy, color therapy, and crystals nicely round out this book to offer a complete healing package. The authors also address the potential of life force and energetic healing. All this is presented in a format that is easily accessible to the reader. Houdret is a member of the Herb Society and the British Herb Trade Association and author of numerous books. He co-author, Airey, is involved in complementary healthcare.--Kathi Keville, AHA Director "American Herb Association Quarterly 33.1, October 218 " |
