- Its woody odor with oriental overtones comes from there sin of agar, more commonly known as Oud.
- Its name comes from the Arabic «al-oud» which means «wood». This softwood, also called the wood of the Gods, is native to Saudi Arabia. It is reputed and esteemed in the world of perfumery for its aromatic qualities.
