Arora, M.D., Ph.D., M.N.A.MS., Professor and Head, Department of Microbiology, Maharaja Agarsen Medical College, Agroha, Hisar (India); Lead Assessor National Accreditation Board for Testing and Calibration Laboratories (NABL) New Delhi (India) formerly Prof & Head Deptt of Microbiology, Postgraduate Institute of Medical Sciences Rohtak (India) has 35 years of teaching experience in microbiology including parasitology to medical, dental and postgraduate students. Besides conducting and supervising research in microbiology, he has published 150 research articles in several national and international journals of repute. The results of his research on malaria parasites, and Kiebsiella pneumoniae have been cited in World Health Organization WHO/MAL/83.10003 and Topley and Wilson s Microbiology and Microbial Infections, Vol. 2, 9th edition, 1998, respectively. In addition, he has authored Textbook of Microbiology , Microbiology for Nurses & Allied Sciences and Medical Parasitology . He has also contributed a chapter on AIDS in the Manual of Skin Diseases by Jam & Deshore. He has supervised a number of postgraduate students of Doctor of Philosophy, Doctor of Medicine and Master of Surgery examinations. In appreciation of outstanding rese carried out by him in India on bacteriocins of Kiebsiella pneumoniae, he was awarded Smt. Kunti Mehrotra Award of Indian Association of Pathologists and Microbiologists in 1983. In recognition of significant contribution for the advancement of medical sciences he was elected Member of National Academy of Medical Sciences (India) in 1985. He has been a Visiting Professor at University of Mauritius in 1989. He was awarded WHO fellowship on Laboratory Aspects of HIV/AIDS and STD at Community Health Surveillance and Laboratories Administration, Baltimore, Maryland (USA) in 1992. He was honoured by Indian Medical Association, Kaithal (Haryana) on the eve of Doctors Day on 01 -07-1 999. He has been examiner for B.D.S., M.B.B.S., M.D., and Ph.D. microbiology of a number of universities. He is an active member of several scientific societies. He has also chaired sessions and delivered special lectures at a number of symposia/seminars in India and abroad. On behalf of NABL, he has inspected a number of laboratories in the country for accreditation. Dr. Hina Arora, B.D.S., I.D.E.S., C.E.O. Roorkee (India) graduated from Maharshi Dayanand University, Rohtak in 1998 with distinctions in General Pathology and Microbiology, General and Dental Pharmacology, General Medicine, Oral Pathology and Microbiology, Preventive and Community Dentistry and Prosthodontics, Crown and Bridge and is the best graduate of M.D. University, Rohtak for the year 1998. The International College f Dentists, India Section, presented her with the Student Plaque Award-i 998 as an honour to her outstanding achievement during her years of dental study at Dental College, Rohtak. |
