The RAMPS
4 board is designed to mount the entire electronics required for RepRap in a small package.
RAMPS interfaces the Mega for the powerful MEGA platform with plenty of space for expansion.
The modular design includes the insertion of stepper drives and extruder control electronics for the MEGA shield for easy repair, component replacement, upgrades and expansion.
In addition, as long as the main RAMPS board is kept on top of the stack, multiple expansion boards can be added to the system.
Mega is the ATmega2560, as the core microcontroller development board itself has 54 sets of digital I / O input / output terminals (14 sets of PWM output), 16 sets of analog than input, 4 sets of UART (hardware serial port), use 16 MHz crystal.
