Book DescriptionI was captivated by the phrase "Hope Dinqal" when he described poetry as a stolen joy the moment I read it years ago. I have often seen it at the threshold of every book about poetry I wanted to publish, a fitting title for that book if it weren't for the distractions or themes in the texts that led me to other phrases/titles. And although I do not claim that what this book describes in terms of texts and readings is entirely in line with Dinqal's definition of poetry (his definition is itself burdened with poetry), I find a higher proportion of what the book describes to be close to that remarkable and divergent definition, of course.
