Product Overview
OverviewArduino Arduino Ethernet Shield (Wiznet W5100)
Arduino Ethernet Shield is an ethernet shield prepared and produced over the circuit diagram provided by Arduino. It is fully compatible with the original Arduino Ethernet Shield and all libraries and codes prepared for it can also be used in this shield.

By using Arduino Ethernet Shield, you can connect your Arduino board to the internet in a few minutes. Plug the Ethernet Shield onto the arduino, and connect the RJ45 cable to the ethernet shield, you can start to control the arduino over the internet by following a few steps.

Arduino Ethernet Shield allows you to connect to the internet via ethernet. Based on the Wiznet W5100 IC, this card is compatible with both TCP and UCP. Arduino Ethernet Shield supports 4 simultaneous socket connections. By connecting the ethernet cable to the standard RJ45 ethernet socket on the shield, you can quickly connect the arduino to the internet with the Ethernet Library.

Poe model of Arduino Ethernet Shield is also available. You can review the Arduino Ethernet Shield Poe product.
There is an SD card slot on the card. In this way, you can write and read various information on the SD card. You can use SD card with SD Library. SS pin of SD card; pin is 4.

Arduino communicates with Ethernet Shield processor Wiznet W5100 and SD card arduino via SPI line. These pins are pins 11, 12 and 13 on UNO and pins 50, 51 and 52 on MEGA. In both models, pin 10 is the selection pin of the W5100 and pin 4 is the selection pin of the SD card. These pins are not used as general input output pins. Hardware SS pin (53rd pin) in Arduino MEGA is not used for SD card or W5100. But this pin must be set as output pin.

An important point to note is that since the W5100 and SD card use the same SPI line, only one of them is active at the same time. If two communications are desired to be made at the same time, care should be taken to ensure that the library used is common. If you are not going to use both at the same time, you need to disable the part you do not use. To disable the SD card, you need to show the 4th pin as an output and give a 5V (high) output from this pin. In order to make the W5100 passive, you need to show the 10th pin as an output and give a 5V (high) output.

Note: You can check the Arduino Ethernet product for the combined version of Ethernet Shield and Uno.
It is the shield that offers easy prototyping in your rduino projects. It has 2 buttons and LEDs on it. The prototyping area has vertical row pins for integrated soldering and horizontal row pins to facilitate power connections. In addition, 5V and GND connections are positioned to be output with separate female headers. There is enough space to fit a mini breadboard on it.
