Foot Switch Style Sustain Pedal

For those electronic keyboards with an input jack labeled "SUSTAIN," the FC5 model is used in the same manner the sustain pedal on an acoustic piano is used. After pressing down a key, the note will continue to sound utilizing the technology of the FC5 until the sustain pedal is released.

The FC5 can also be utilized as an FS controller for synthesizers, tone modules, and drum machines. A compact version of the FC4, the FC5 performs similar to an acoustic piano's sustain pedal, providing expression and feeling to any performance. It can also be used as a hands-free on/off switch for activating effects or even recording.

Specifications:
Cable Length: 5 Feet
Jack Size: 6.3 mm (1/4" plug)
Rubber bottom grips the floor for stability during play
Compatible with electronic keyboards, synthesizers, and tone modules

Note on Polarity Issues

If a sustain pedal plugged into a Yamaha keyboard is producing the opposite effect—sustaining when the pedal is not depressed and not sustaining when it is—this is usually because:

  1. The pedal was plugged in while the keyboard was turned on, or
  2. The pedal was depressed while the keyboard was powering on.

This can trick the keyboard into thinking the default state of the pedal is depressed, resulting in reverse polarity or reverse function.

To fix this:

  1. With the unit turned on and the pedal plugged in, depress and hold the sustain pedal while powering the unit off.
  2. Release the pedal once the unit is turned off.
  3. Turn the unit back on.

If that doesn’t solve the issue, please contact our support team for further assistance.
