AuthorDr. Sharaf El-Din Abdel Hamid
LanguageArabic
Book DescriptionThis book deals with the early Greek philosophers, before Socrates, who shaped European and even global consciousness; they are the ancestors and founding fathers of the global philosophical edifice. It includes an attempt at reconstruction and a new interpretation; based on investing in the philosophical text, anticipating the religious and mythological context prior to the philosophical text, and reconstructing the philosophical significance. The author here attempts to develop what is called "philosophical hermeneutics", and aspires to establish: a new interpretation as an alternative to the common Aristotelian interpretation, through a hermeneutic approach that interprets the remaining fragments of the philosophy of the early Greek philosophers. The period of the early Greek philosophers is a founding period for Greek science and Greek philosophy. Therefore, it is a very important period in the history of human thought as a whole. If we do not understand this period, which founded contemporary European civilization, properly, we will have overlooked the foundation on which a certain civilization, namely European civilization, was built, and which influenced different and different civilizations such as Islamic civilization. This is a crime we may commit against consciousness, even unintentionally! We are faced with an important book in the history of Greek philosophy that represents a true addition to the Arabic library, with its author possessing new interpretive visions, and a superior ability to delve into the most minute details and unlimited navigation, in an attempt to understand the terms and deepen their various meanings to present the most complete and comprehensive picture of the statement of this or that philosopher’s doctrine, in a solid philosophical language and smooth style.
