About the Author | Mohammad Ibrahim Khan, an engineering educator, was born in Kanpur, India, on August 19, 1942. He got his BS, from Agra University (1959), BS (ME), Aligarh Muslim University (1963), M.E. from University of Roorkee (1966), and Ph.D., University of Roorkee (1979).He worked as Lecturer, University of Roorkee (1966-70), as Associate Professor, Motilal Nehru Regional Engineering College, Allahabad (1970-1980) and University of Basrah, Iraq (1980-84), as Professor, University of Garyounis, Benghazi, Libya (1984-2001) and retired as Professor and Head, Mechanical Engineering Department, Integral University, Lucknow.He has authored books on Mechanical Costing and Estimation, Mechanical Costing Estimation and Project Planning and Industrial Engineering. He has published 29 research papers in reputed journals and supervised 22 M.S. theses. He is presently working in the areas of Ergonomics and Manufacturing Science.He is a recipient of Bharat Jyoti Award, Front for Nat. Progress 1999, Laureate of the Living Science Award for his services to research application, healthcare and education. He is a Life Fellow of Institution of Engineers (India). He received the Life Prize 1976-77 and Certificate of Merit, 1978. He is a senior member, Society of Manufacturing Engineers.He is a well known scientist in his field of specialization and his biography appears in Marquis Who’s Who in Science and Engineering, New Providence, N.J., U.S.A. and in Living Science Reference Title published by the International Biographical Centre, Cambridge CB2 3QP England.Niaz Ahmed Siddiqui, BE from IIT, Roorkee, MTech. from Manav Bharti University, Solan (HP) has got a rich experience of working for 37 years in heavy industries including 35 years with SAIL (Steel Authority of India Limited) and 2 years with a private ISO-9000 industry. During his tenure with SAIL, he did the following two courses of 2 years duration each: Post Graduate Diploma in Management from All India Management Association, New Delhi. Graduateship in Industrial Engineering from Indian Institution of Industrial Engineering, Mumbai. He was awarded the Merit Gold Medal for standing 1st at National level.He was trained at British Steel, UK, under United Nations Development Program (UNDP). The subject of training was Maintenance Systems and Management. He was stationed at Bhilai Steel Plant, a Maharatna Company, for his entire length of service of 35 years with SAIL where he was in charge of maintenance for Blast Furnaces. He was heading a very large Maintenance Organisation which included mostly Engineers and was responsible for their training, development, welfare, discipline, performance, career planning and appropriate placement for successful growth of the organization. He is a Fellow (Life) of The Institution of Engineers (India), Kolkata and also a life member of (i) Indian Institution of Industrial Engineering, Mumbai (ii) The Indian Institute of Welding, Kolkata and (iii) Administrative Staff College of India, Hyderabad. He has visited many countries, like USA, UK, France, Germany, Holland, Italy, Switzerland, Austria, Belgium, Canada, UAE and Saudi Arabia. At present, he is Asstt. Professor in Mechanical Engineering Department, Integral University, Lucknow (UP) where he is teaching BTech. and MBA students since August 2011. |
