Book Description | "Nursing Diagnoses, Outcomes, and Interventions: NANDA, NOC and NIC Linkages" extends the use of the Nursing Interventions Classification (NIC) and Nursing Outcomes Classification (NOC) by linking them with nursing diagnoses, using the NANDA taxonomy. This book is the first and only to provide linkages between all three recognized taxonomies based on research by the investigative teams at the University of Iowa. By linking diagnoses, outcomes, and interventions, this book provides the definitive tool from which students can develop care plans for their patients, and by which institutions can track and quantify nursing care. The linkages can be used by clinicians, students, educators, researchers, and administrators in a wide variety of clinical, educational, and research venues. "Nursing Diagnoses, Outcomes, and Interventions: NANDA, NOC and NIC Linkages" is divided into three parts: part one dealing with languages and applications which is organized into three chapters, this first section discusses the development of the languages and linkages and provides four case studies with nursing care plans applying the linkages between NANDA, NOC and NIC; part two dealing with NANDA, NOC and NIC linkages which includes all of the 1999 NANDA-approved nursing diagnoses listed alphabetically with the associated outcomes and three levels (major, suggested, and optional) of interventions, the diagnoses which are arranged in alphabetical order by the first word of the major concept of the diagnosis and the risk for diagnoses which appear as a group following the first group of diagnoses and are also listed in alphabetical order; and part three which contain 2 appendices which present definitions for NIC interventions and NOC outcome terms. |
