Book Description | Having been writing poems for many years, in 2018 I was suddenly struck, after a thanksgiving visit to cousins in Arizona, Pennsylvania and New York, by my father's fall and final illness. The month of being with him, before his passing, and my hugely intensified emotions, triggered immediate thoughts which drove all of the poems in this book. These poems cover elements of my early life which came to me as I reflected on the shortness of life's time. As well as those which are about my thinking of my father's being and his soul. The last part of the book took me to the time after his death and our family's future existence somewhere together. I have never been so intensely charged, day after all too short day, by such powerful feelings. These words belong together and so they are. |
