Varun Sivaram is a physicist and chief technology officer at Renault PowerFeature, a multibillion-dollar renewable energy company that is India's largest, a senior researcher at the Columbia University Center for Global Energy Policy, and a board member of the Stanford University Energy and Environmental Institutes. Most recently, he was a Fellow at the Council on Foreign Relations, where he directed its energy program, an adjunct professor at Georgetown University, where he taught (Clean Energy Innovation), and has also served as an advisor to the Mayor of Los Angeles and the New York Governor's Office as an energy advisor, and as a consultant at McKinsey & Co. company. PV PV magazine named him "Hamilton of the Solar Industry", "Forbes" magazine named him "One of the 30 Best People Under 30 in Entrepreneurship", and Grist as one of the 50 Best Sustainability Leaders. He is the editor of Digital Decarbonization: Encouraging Digital Innovation to Develop Clean Energy Systems.
