These units should provide students with a solid foundation in pathological processes and medical-surgical interventions. Special attention throughout is given to gerontologic care, including separate chapters on falls, immobility, confusion and incontinence. Other units thoroughly cover psychiatric disorders, substance abuse and long-term care, as well as cancer and other medical-surgical disorders. |
