Planting conditions:
Due to its unique climbing habits, this species is very suitable for planting in containers on the terrace. You need to tie the long stems to a lattice or net and gently train them upwards. When picked regularly throughout the summer, a lot of green, smooth courgettes are produced, which are the best vegetables in their kind.
Sow zucchini seeds indoors for transplantation later; sow them outdoors. Improve the structure and fertility of the soil by adding a lot of farm manure to prepare the soil in early spring. Indoors, sown seeds into 7.5 cm (3 inches) of free-draining seed sowing compost at a sowing depth of 2 cm (3/4 inch). Place it in a propagator or airtight container in a plastic bag at a temperature of 20-25C (68-77F) until it sprouts. Do not exclude light, as this will help germination. After germination, grow the courgettes in cooler conditions until all the risk of frost has passed and the courgette plants are large enough to be transplanted. Make them gradually adapt to the outdoor environment, and then grow zucchini in the rich fertile soil.
