In 2024, Narex celebrates its 105th anniversary since Mr. Vaclav Richter founded the factory and initially began producing quality tools for woodworkers under the RICHTER (R) EXTRA brand.
To celebrate the occasion, Narex has introduced a special anniversary set of popular branding knives.
The anniversary marking knives consist of solid stainless steel blades with finger recesses and specially colored and polished wood scales made of figured maple wood. The handle cover is firmly attached to the blade with brass pins.
The blades in the set are 0.75mm, 1.2mm and 2.5mm thick – the thinner blades provide more precise markings, while the thicker blades offer greater durability. The set of three marking blades comes packaged in a deluxe paper box with foam padding and features our original RICHTER(R) EXTRA logo.

These blades are made from AISI 420 corrosion resistant stainless steel and hardened and tempered to HRC 57. The blades are  48mm  long,  12.5mm  wide and come in 3 thicknesses. The blades have a double bevel spear tip. The tips are ground to 55 degrees with a 25 degree grind on both bevels. The bevels are precision ground on CNC machines. The laser cut finger indentations are useful for applying pressure closer to the tip. The blades are excellent for making markings in tight recesses such as when transferring pins/tails when dovetailing. The double bevel will mark clear lines on both the right and left sides of a part or guide.  They will leave sharp lines when marking in wood. These blades may only require a slight bend to remove a small wire edge to leave them razor sharp and ready for use. The handles are 9.5mm thick and made from hand sanded and polished figured stained maple. The handle inlays are attached to the blade with two brass pins. The handles are the perfect size for a nimble yet sturdy pointing knife. The square handle profile prevents these knives from rolling off the bench.
