Bomemeter is a density measuring device that works on the principle of buoyancy of liquids. There is a weight at the bottom of the closed glass tube.

When immersed in a liquid, looking at which line the liquid surface reaches gives a rough idea about the density of that solution. The boom meter shows 0 in pure water.

Calculation Method:

For liquids denser than water: Specific density = 145 / (145 - degrees bome)

For liquids less dense than water: Specific density = 140 / (130 + degrees bome)
