Book DescriptionBetween the covers of this book you will find stories about the cities within Anoka County tracing the people who once lived in them and the things that happened in them that have become buried beneath the layers of more recent events. The author started "digging up the past" in Anoka County when she was asked to be one of four contributing history writers for the Anoka Union Herald. Under the auspices of the Anoka County Historical Society, she published 79 columns between June of 2009 and June of 2016 when her last column appeared in that popular section of the paper. They are now gathered together in this book in a loose chronological order according to the present Cities of Anoka County in which the events happened and the people lived.
About the AuthorJune Gossler Anderson's interest in her adopted city began in 2007 when she volunteered to be a Ghost Tour guide in the Halloween Capital of the World. Now, ten years later, she is still leading the curious through the darkened streets of Anoka, relating the city's history, mystery, and hauntings. She is enjoying her "golden years," traveling, writing, and helping others to publish through her guidebook and class "How to Publish Your Book without Going Broke" and has independently published eight of her own works. Book Number Seven is an Anoka history/mystery/haunting, The Haunting of the Anoka Masonic Lodge. She is currently working on her ninth book, History, Mystery and Hauntings of Anoka County and Beyond.
