ULANZI DOF Adapter is an advanced smartphone SLR/DSLR and Cinema lens adapter.

It allows you to use an SLR/DSLR and Cinema lens with the powerful smartphone camera in your pocket for incredible bokeh, shallow depth of field and film-style looks, and focus manually like a pro.

ULANZI DOF Adapter is compatible with Sony E-mount lenses, most full frame manual lenses can be used with E-mount converters.

The main purpose of the DOF Adapter is to add a beautiful, true shallow depth of field and bokeh to your photos and videos.

Note:The DOF adapter inverts the image. To use DOF, you need compatible camera applications; when you change the setting in the application, the image will be corrected.

For best results, we recommend using lenses with apertures between f0.9 and f2.8 that meet the following criteria;

Direct mounting:Sony E Mount Manual lenses can be mounted directly to the DOF Adapter

Adaptable mounting:Canon EF, Nikon F, Nikon G, Pentax K, M42 manual lenses (these lenses can be mounted on the DOF Adapter with a simple e-mount converter)

Attention:Micro Four Thirds lenses are not compatible with the DOF Adapter.

Using the DOF Adapter

Mount your phone in a ULANZI U-Rig Metal or other 17mm lens-mountable phone case and align the lens mount with your phone's main camera.

Screw the DOF Adapter onto the lens mount.

Release the screw (A) and rotate the barrel (B) clockwise until the focusing screen is aligned horizontally; then lock the Screw.

Attach your SLR or DSLR lens to the e-mount mount.

Beginning

Launch your camera app and rotate the image to its normal orientation.

Lock your phone's focus (usually by tapping/holding on the screen or frame in some apps).

Turn the focus dial on your SLR/DSLR lens until your image is in focus.
