About the AuthorMarc Dixon is Professor of Sociology at Dartmouth College, where he serves as chair. Prior to this he was a member of the faculty at Florida State University. He has published in the top sociology and interdisciplinary journals including American Sociological Review; American Journal of Sociology; Social Forces; Social Problems; Journal of Policy History, Mobilization, and Social Movement Studies; and Work and Occupations. His work has been supported by the National Science Foundation and has received awards from the American Sociological Association's sections on Labor and Labor Movements and Collective Behavior and Social Movements.
