Overview CNC Shield for Arduino Nano (A4988 compatible)
A4988 Driver CNC Shield Expansion Board for Arduino is an Arduino shield that controls three stepper motors using three A4988 motor driver boards.The pinout of the board is compatible with the open source CNC control software Grbl. While the pinout makes it possible to use it as an Arduino shield, it can also be controlled with external signals using parallel male headers to drive stepper motors.
GRBL is free, open-source, high-performance software for controlling the movements of moving machines and will run directly on an Arduino. CNC shield works compatible with GRBL.
Note: A4988 motor driver is not included in the package.

This shield, which is a driver expansion board, can also be used in engraving machines, especially 3D printers. It can drive four A4988 stepper motors and has a total of 4 slots. Only two input/output ports are required for each path stepper motor. In other words, 3 stepper motors can be driven for 6 input/output ports.
