About the AuthorCarlo Cavicchi (born 1947) is a celebrated Italian journalist who has been director of weekly magazines Autosprint (1984–99) and SportAutoMoto (2001–08), and the monthly Quattroruote (2010–14). The winner of numerous journalistic awards, he was a member of the Car of the Year jury for 23 years and sat on the Car of the Century world jury in Las Vegas in 1999. His books include Senna Vero (‘The True Senna’), co-written with the great Brazilian ace in 1992 and published in numerous editions. After Senna’s death at Imola in 1994, he campaigned through Autosprint to establish the true cause of the accident.Walter Breveglieri (1921–2000) was a Bologna-based photographer who recorded the life of the city as well covering sport and the film world. Through his occasional exploits as a racing driver, including with an OSCA, he became friendly with the Maserati brothers and regularly photographed their post-war endeavours, amassing over 2,500 images, few of which had been published before the release of this book, first in Italian and now in English.
