| Book Description | Winfried Steffani recently emphasized once again that, despite all the criticisms, a convincing alternative to pluralist democracy has not yet been developed and pluralistic democracy is and remains a work program in theory and practice. * The focus of this study is on the normative dimension of democracy neoplurial state theory Ernst Fraenkel. By attempting to reconstruct their central categories of interest and consensus in terms of pluralism, but also from an interdisciplinary perspective, the normative premises of pluralistic theory of democracy are to be problematized, proposals for their re-foundation discussed and stimulated further fundamental reflection. The dissertation was accepted in 1977 by the Department of Philosophy and Social Sciences of the University of Hamburg.
