About the AuthorSir Malcolm D Evans KCMG, OBE, is Principal of Regent's Park College, Oxford, formerly Professor of Public International Law at the University of Bristol. His areas of special interest are the law of the sea and the international protection of human rights, and in particular the freedom of religion or belief and the prevention of torture. He was co-General Editor of the International and Comparative Law Quarterly from 2013-2023, and Chair of the United Nations Subcommittee for Prevention of Torture from 2011-2020. He is an Associate Member of the Institut du Droit Internationale.
