About the Author | Andrew Lambert is Professor of Naval History at King's College, London, and has been described as 'the outstanding British naval historian of his generation' (David Cannadine). His books include The Foundations of Naval History (1998), Trincomalee: The Last of Nelson's Frigates (2002), Nelson: Britannia's God of War (2004), Franklin: Tragic Hero of Polar Exploration (2009), and The Challenge: Britain Against America in the Naval War of 1812 (2012). He is a fellow of the Royal Historical Society, and his highly successful history of the British Navy, War at Sea, was broadcast on BBC2. |
