About the Author | Dr. Nick LeRoy is the director of the Illinois Center for Progressive Health, located in Chicago's Fulton Market district. He is a holistic physician who integrates his training in nutrition, chiropractic, acupuncture, internal medicine and women' s health to offer unique approaches to most ailments. Dr. LeRoy is a primary care physician for Alternative Medicine Incorporated, a Blue Cross Blue Shield HMO. He is also a member of the American Academy of Chiropractic Physicians. Dr. LeRoy has been featured as a women's health expert at the Whole Life Expo of 1997, 1998 and 2002, and he has been interviewed on Chicago NBC news, ABC news, Fox news and local radio as a holistic medicine expert. He has also lectured on breast cancer prevention and treatment at Gilda's Club of Chicago and the Wellness House in Hinsdale, IL. Dr. LeRoy holds a BS in human biology from the University of Wisconsin at Milwaukee, where he also completed post-graduate studies in molecular biology and endocrinology. He graduated summa cum laude from the National University of Health Sciences, and graduated from Midwest Center for the Study of Oriental Medicine. Dr. LeRoy has a Master's Degree in Advanced Clinical Practice as well as post-doctoral training in internal medicine and gynecology. Dr. LeRoy has owned and managed the Illinois Center for Progressive Health since 1995. He has also been credentialled by NCQA as a primary care physician for HMO-Illinois for fifteen years. In addition to this experience, Dr. LeRoy was the past CEO of a company providing interactive corporate health and wellness programs, services and resources. He has also been on the faculty of several schools teaching anatomy, physiology and pathology. |
