ETRTO (European Tire and Rim Technical Organization) is the most accurate size by which we can check whether the tire we buy is the same size as the one we currently have on the bike.

These are numbers printed on the sidewall of your tire, e.g. 50-406 (20x2.0). This means the tire is 50 mm (2.0") wide and fits a 406 mm (20") diameter rim.

The diameter of the tire must match the diameter of the rim and the width of the tire must be within the width allowed by accessories such as frame, fork, brakes and mudguards.
