About the Author | Ronald F. Gibson, Ph.D., is currently an adjunct professor of mechanical engineering at the University of Nevada, Reno. He has held full-time faculty positions at Iowa State University, University of Idaho, and Wayne State University, as well as visiting faculty positions at Stanford University, University of Florida, and Michigan State University. His industrial/government experience includes a position as a development engineer for Union Carbide Corporation, Nuclear Division and a summer faculty fellowship at the NASA Langley Research Center. Widely published and highly decorated, Dr. Gibson is an elected fellow of the American Society of Mechanical Engineers, Society for Advancement of Material and Process Engineering, and American Society for Composites. He is also past president of the American Society for Composites, and a member of the American Society for Engineering Education, American Institute for Aeronautics and Astronautics, and Society for Experimental Mechanics. |
