Book Description | We stretched out with the light on. Then with the light off. She laughs in the dark as I whisper that the victim is now in the arms of her executioner. We left behind the sick terms and got busy with what we were in. Only a man and a woman meet and between them an angel. We put the years aside and try delayed love. We fail or succeed. We have had lean and dry years. We forgot the arts of companionship. But love is like swimming and riding a bike. A skill that one abandons but never forgets. He dives into the water, moves his arms and legs and swims. The thirsty embrace embraces him. "Swiss Summer" is the story of four Iraqis who meet in Basel to try a drug to treat ideological addiction. Their parties have ruined them and destroyed their country. The Swiss city used to offer them bonbons and reconnect a deferred love. |
