Hickey, PhD, RN, APRN, ACNP-BC, FAAN, FCCM is a professor in the School of Nursing, University of Texas @Houston, Health Science Center where she is program director of the DNP Program and the Acute Care NP Program. She is also the author of Clinical Practice of Neurological & Neurosurgical Nursing. Sarah L. Livesay, DNP, RN, ACNP-BC, ACNS-BC, SCRN is an Assistant Professor at the College of Nursing, Rush University. She teaches in the APN and DNP programs and maintains a clinical practice caring for patients with stroke at the Comprehensive Stroke Center at Rush University Medical Center. Dr. Livesay has over 5 years of experience reviewing stroke programs across the nation on behalf of The Joint Commission.
