About the Author | Carlos Rioz Zafn (1964), a Spanish novelist and screenwriter, born in Barcelona, has lived in the United States (Los Angeles) since 1994. He published his first novel, Prince of the Mist, in 1993, for which he won the Edeb Award for Young Adult and Childrens Literature. He also has three novels in young adult literature: Midnight Palace, September Lights, and Marina. In 2001, Zafn published his most famous novel, The Shadow of the Wind, his first work not directed at children. The novel was met with unparalleled critical acclaim, and was published in more than forty countries and translated into thirty languages. |
