About the Author | Michelle Benson is a full-time professional development designer and consultant for Center for Responsive Schools (CRS), working with teachers and school districts throughout the United States and the international school community. Michelle began her education career as a middle school English/Language Arts teacher. Prior to joining CRS, Michelle served as a secondary curriculum specialist for eight years in a rural school district in North CarolinaRio Clemente has been a sixth grade social studies teacher at Randolph Middle School in New Jersey since 2001. In 2004, he founded the Random Acts of Kindness club, which inspires students to perform acts of kindness for each other, the school, and the greater community. He has been practicing the Responsive Classroom approach since 2014 and has been a Responsive Classroom consulting teacher since 2016.Nicole Doner was a fifth grade teacher in both Burlington and Essex, Vermont, where she practiced the Responsive Classroom approach for over fifteen years. Currently, Nicole is a full-time educational consultant and coach for Center for Responsive Schools.Jeannie Holenko is a sixth grade teacher at Oak Bluffs School in Oak Bluffs, Massachusetts. She has been creating safe, joyful and engaging classrooms using the Responsive Classroom approach for more than twenty years, has has been a Responsive Classroom consulting teacher for the past thirteen years.Dana Januszka began her teaching career in South Brunswick, New Jersey.
