About the AuthorJULIUS EGGELING (1842-1918), a native of Germany, was a professor of Sanskrit and comparative philology at Edinburgh University and secretary of the Royal Asiatic Society of London. His knowledge of Sanskrit led him to translate The Satapatha Brahmana found in The Sacred Books of the East. F. MAX MÜLLER (1823-1900) was a German author and orientalist who lived in England most of his life.
