About the AuthorStefan G. Hofmann is Professor of Psychology in the Department of Psychology at Boston University, USA, where he is Director of the Psychotherapy and Emotion Research Laboratory. His core research focuses on the mechanics of applying developments in treatment, on generating clinical applications from discoveries in neuroscience, on strategies for emotion regulation, and on cultural manifestations of psychopathy such as social anxiety disorder. Professor Hofmann is the author of more than 200 scientific publications and 15 books, including Cognitive Behavior Therapy of Social Anxiety Disorder: Evidence-Based and Disorder-Specific Treatment Techniques (2008, co-authored with Michael W. Otto). In addition to his editorial work for Cognitive Therapy and Research and the Journal of Consulting and Clinical Psychology, Prof Hofmann is President of the Association of ABCT and IACP, and a board member of the Academy of Cognitive Therapy.
